Maverick is now five months old. At his most recent check-up, he was in the 95th percentile for his height and was measuring 27 inches long. His weight was 16 lb 11.8oz; his head circumference was 44 cm. Jesus has definitely blessed us with a big, healthy boy.
This month he rolled over from his back to his tummy (August 1st). He's continued to sleep well through the night, but sometimes he still wakes up for a feeding in the wee morning hours - around 2 or 3am. Maverick continues to do well nursing.
He experienced solid foods this month. His big brother was the one to first feed him rice cereal. Most of the food ends up on his bib, but he does manage to swallow some of it.
A couple of weeks later we let him try a vegetable. His face tells it all. Those carrots just don't taste sweet like his milk. Poor fella!
Tummy time is still part of his daily routine. Even though he's not crawling, he manages to scoot himself in a complete circle. He can get himself into some real jams. We've got to keep a constant eye on him. He's one active little boy.
Little man sure can squeal. He will get so loud and high; I think he likes to hear himself.
He is teething and full of drool. No teeth have peeked through yet.
The Olympics are over, but we continue to play for the gold at our house. Rocco always represents the United States, while Maverick and I are the other team (China, Jamaica, or Mexico). The baby's closet is the goal and we put out various obstacles to help block the ball. I'll hold Maverick and let his feet kick the ball. We call him the "littlest Jamaican" when he's up to play. Of course Rocco is such a good goalie the ball is normally blocked and Maverick doesn't score. Just wait until little brother gets a little bigger!
I went back to work this month. Thank the Lord I am able to stay home with him a lot though. I'm just working two and a half days a week. On the days I'm home, his schedule is something like this...
