Baby Shower

Tonight was our first baby shower for little Nitro.  Our church, the one that Jason pastors, was so generous in their giving.  The shower was church wide so men, women, and children were there.  It started at 6pm; people brought a covered dish, and we ate before opening gifts. Jodi, the music minister's wife, made our cake.  It matched the baby's nursery bedding.
I think we opened presents for over an hour.

We got an assembly line going. Connie Padgett would hand us the gift, Rocco would help tear open the paper with me, Jason would read the card, Kim Simpson would write down who gave what, and Lauren Simpson would throw the trash away.  People were so nice to buy Rocco little gifts, too.  He really digged that!

Some items we got were our car seat/stroller travel system, boppy pillow, bath tub set, handmade blankets, lots of clothes, tons of diapers, and a whole bunch of Johnson's bathing supplies.  When it was all over, Gary, Carolyn, Drew, and Tonya helped us take it all home in their Tahoe.

Of course my Honda was loaded down, and Jason had some items in his truck.  When we got home, Sydney and Rocco would get the gifts from Gary and Carolyn and run it down to me through the hall and into the baby's room.  Tonight was a great show of love and generosity from our church family.  It was a big team effort getting it all home.  Now I just need to sort through it all!  That will be fun~

Ups and Downs

Pregnancy can be an emotional ride.  Today I just wanted to report an "up" for the record.  My blood work and echo results came back.  My heart is healthy and in good condition.  Thank you Lord!

We also had a 4d ultrasound.  Here's a little peak at what our baby boy looks like. We are 8 weeks away from my scheduled C-section.  Can't wait to meet him!
